AS/NZS standard 12.7-22kV-XLPE Insulated MV Power Cable

AS/NZS standard 12.7-22kV-XLPE Insulated MV Power Cable

Specifications:

12.7-22kV XLPE-insulated medium-voltage power cables are suitable for distribution or secondary transmission networks, typically serving as the primary power supply for commercial, industrial, and urban residential networks. Featuring an LSZH sheath material, they are suitable for indoor, public areas, or other environments requiring fire safety considerations.

Application :

12.7-22kV-XLPE insulated medium-voltage power cables are typically employed for power distribution networks and auxiliary power cables in diverse environments. The integral armouring permits direct burial to prevent accidental electric shock and damage. The AS/NZS 12.7-22kV-XLPE type constitutes medium-voltage power cables manufactured to Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1429.1. They are suitable for fixed installation within power supply networks in both indoor and outdoor environments, and may be laid in cable ducts, on cable trays, or directly buried underground. Suitable for high fault current systems rated up to 10kA/1 second. Constructions with higher rated fault current capabilities are available upon request.

Custom designed Medium Voltage cables:

For efficiency and longevity, every MV cable should be tailored to the installation but there are times when a truly bespoke cable is needed. Our MV cable experts can work with you to design a solution that matches your requirements. Most commonly, customisations affect the area size of the metallic screen, which can be adjusted to change the short circuit capacity and earthing provisions.
In every case, the technical data is provided to demonstrate suitability and the specification honed for manufacture. All customised solutions are subject to enhanced testing in our MV Cable Testing Facility.
