AS/NZS standard 12.7-22kV-XLPE Insulated MV Power Cable

AS/NZS standard 12.7-22kV-XLPE Insulated MV Power Cable

Specifications:

Electricity distribution or sub-transmission networks cable typically used as primary supply to Commercial, Industrial and urban residential networks. Suitable for high fault level systems rated up to 10kA/1sec. Higher fault current rated constructions are available on request.

    Custom designed Medium Voltage cables
For efficiency and longevity, every MV cable should be tailored to the installation but there are times when a truly bespoke cable is needed. Our MV cable experts can work with you to design a solution that matches your requirements. Most commonly, customisations affect the area size of the metallic screen, which can be adjusted to change the short circuit capacity and earthing provisions.

In every case, the technical data is provided to demonstrate suitability and the specification honed for manufacture. All customised solutions are subject to enhanced testing in our MV Cable Testing Facility.

Application :

LSZH MV cables also include PVC single-core AWA armored cables and XLPE multi-core SWA armored cables.
This design is commonly used for auxiliary power cables in power grids and various environments. The included armor means that the cable can be buried directly into the ground to prevent accidental shock and damage.
LSZH cables are different from PVC cables and cables made of other compounds.
When a cable catches fire, it can produce large amounts of dense black smoke and toxic gases. However, because LSZH cable is made of a thermoplastic material, it produces only small amounts of smoke and toxic gases, and it contains no acidic gases.
It makes it easier for people to escape from a fire or hazardous area. Therefore, they are often installed indoors, such as in public areas, other hazardous areas, or poorly ventilated environments.
